ENVI Mahidol Supports the “Low-Carbon Sapao Festival” Initiative by Sharing Carbon Footprint Expertise and Serving as Judges for a Sustainable Urban Development Hackathon

On 20–21 June 2026, the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University participated as invited speakers and Hackathon judges at the "Low-Carbon Sapao Festival" Hackathon, organized by the Lampang Municipality at The Recreation Hall (Hang Lagorn), Lampang Province, Thailand. 

As part of the event, the ENVI Mahidol team delivered a lecture on Carbon Footprint, sharing practical knowledge on greenhouse gas emissions and environmental impact assessment. They also served on the judging panel for the Hackathon competition, which encouraged participants to develop innovative solutions for organizing environmentally responsible cultural festivals. 

The activities formed part of the "Voice for Wang: Voices for the Wang River" initiative, which aims to encourage youth, local communities, and partner organizations to contribute ideas for sustainable urban and environmental development. The program provided a platform for participants to reimagine the traditional Sapao Chao Lagorn Festival, preserving its rich cultural heritage while reducing its environmental footprint. 

The Low-Carbon Sapao Festival Hackathon focused on developing practical and innovative solutions that could be implemented to reduce foam and plastic waste entering the Wang River, lower greenhouse gas emissions associated with festivals and public events, and promote the sustainable development of Lampang through collaboration among all sectors of society. 

ENVI Mahidol's participation reflects the Faculty's ongoing commitment to applying its expertise in environmental science and sustainability to support community development and social engagement. Through knowledge sharing and collaboration with local stakeholders, the Faculty continues to promote environmentally responsible approaches to organizing cultural events while advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level.



ENVI Mahidol Hosts KM Day to Showcase Best Practices for Sustainable Organizational Development

On 17 June 2026, the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, through its Policy and Planning Unit, organized KM Day under the Knowledge Management (KM) initiative. The event served as a platform for faculty personnel to exchange Best Practices, while promoting knowledge creation and sharing to enhance work efficiency and organizational development.

On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Montira Yutitham, Associate Dean for Policy and Planning, delivered the opening report, highlighting the objectives and significance of the event. Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, officially opened the event and addressed participants, emphasizing the importance of knowledge management, experience sharing, and transforming routine work into innovation as key drivers of sustainable organizational development.

The event was a continuation of the "Best Practices Identification" initiative conducted during March–April 2026, which invited support staff to submit outstanding work practices across various missions, including teaching and learning, research, academic services, and administrative support. Following the evaluation process, seven outstanding Best Practice projects were selected by the faculty committee.

Following the presentations, Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit presented the Outstanding Best Practices Award, together with a cash prize of 5,000 THB, to the project entitled "Red Flag for Dust Alert: A Community-Based PM2.5 Early Warning Innovation for Practical Implementation and Sustainability," presented by the Social Engagement Unit in collaboration with the Information Technology Unit under the General Administration Division.

Certificates of recognition were also presented to six additional Best Practice projects:

  • "Chemical Inventory Control and Monitoring System" by the Environmental Laboratory and International Standards Unit;
  • "Sanitary Pad Waste Management through a Red-Bin Segregation System in Women's Restrooms" by the Physical Facilities and General Services Unit, General Administration Division;
  • "Transforming the Search of Faculty Orders and Announcements Using NotebookLM" by the Documentation Unit and Information Technology Unit, General Administration Division;
  • "Digital Personal Book System for Support Staff" by the Human Resources Unit, General Administration Division;
  • "Fieldwork Flow: One-Click Management – Simplifying Fieldwork through an Integrated End-to-End Workflow and Documentation System" by the Educational Services Unit; and
  • "Real-Time Strategic Performance Monitoring Dashboard" by the Policy and Planning Unit.

The KM Day event reflected the capability of faculty personnel to develop innovative best practices from their daily work and demonstrated the Faculty's commitment to fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening organizational excellence and supporting the Faculty's sustainable development.


ENVI Mahidol Showcases Living Lab Project on Sanitary Pad Waste Management at KM for SDGs: Co-Creating MU Sustainability

On 16 June 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Jirataya Roemmontri, Associate Dean for Administration of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University (ENVI Mahidol), and Project Leader, presented the outcomes of the project entitled "Advancing Sanitary Pad Waste Management: Towards Sustainable Health and a Balanced Environment" at the KM for SDGs: Co-Creating MU Sustainability event. The event was held at the Grand Ballroom, Prince Mahidol Hall Conference and Parking Complex, Salaya, Mahidol University.

The project was supported under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Living Lab Funding 2025 initiative, which promotes innovative, campus-based solutions for sustainable development. The project aims to establish a systematic approach to sanitary pad waste management across the University, raise awareness of menstrual hygiene and environmental sustainability, and encourage active participation from the University community in reducing the environmental impacts associated with menstrual waste.

The presentation formed part of Mahidol University's knowledge-sharing platform on sustainable development, where faculties and departments showcased successful initiatives, best practices, and innovative solutions that contribute to advancing the University's sustainability agenda. The event also provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and foster collaboration in support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).


ENVI Mahidol Visits Suranaree University of Technology to Study Best Practices in Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE)

On 15 June 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, together with the Faculty's executive team, visited Suranaree University of Technology, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, for a study visit on Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE). The visit aimed to exchange knowledge and best practices in educational management that integrates academic learning with real-world workplace experience.

The study visit was organized to enhance the Faculty's understanding of CWIE curriculum management, strengthen collaboration with industry partners, and explore approaches to developing students' competencies in alignment with the evolving needs of industry and the future workforce.

During the visit, the delegation attended a presentation on the implementation of CWIE at Suranaree University of Technology. The session was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Arthit Koonsrisuk, Director of the Center for Cooperative Education and Career Development, who shared the University's experience and best practices in managing cooperative education and work-integrated learning programs. Recognized as one of Thailand's leading higher education institutions in CWIE, Suranaree University of Technology has established a strong reputation for effectively integrating academic study with practical workplace experience.

The two institutions also exchanged ideas on curriculum development and strategies for strengthening partnerships with industry to enhance graduate quality and better prepare students to meet the demands of the future labor market.

This study visit represents another significant step in advancing the quality of education at the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University. The insights gained will support the Faculty's commitment to producing graduates equipped with the knowledge, skills, and professional competencies required for today's rapidly changing world, while further promoting educational innovation and sustainable development at both the national and international levels.


Mahidol University President Congratulates ENVI Mahidol Dean on National CWIE Outstanding Award

On 10 June 2026, Professor Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., President of Mahidol University, presented a congratulatory bouquet to Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, in recognition of receiving the National Outstanding CWIE Award 2026 in Category 10: Outstanding CWIE Program Administrator (Lower Central Region Network).

The award was presented under the theme "CWIE 5.0 for an Entrepreneurial Society: Innovation, Resilience, and Lifelong Learning" to recognize and honor outstanding individuals and higher education institutions for their excellence in Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE).

The official award presentation ceremony was held on 6 June 2026 at the King Naresuan the Great International Exhibition and Convention Center, Naresuan University, Phitsanulok Province.


ENVI Mahidol Receives the 2026 National Outstanding CWIE Award, Demonstrating Excellence in Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education

Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, has been honored with the 2026 National Outstanding CWIE Award in Category 10: Outstanding CWIE Program Administrator (Lower Central Region Network). The award recognizes excellence in the management of Cooperative and Work-Integrated Education (CWIE) programs.

Presented under the theme "CWIE 5.0 for an Entrepreneurial Society: Innovation, Resilience, and Lifelong Learning," the award ceremony was held on 6 June 2026 at Maharaj Convention Halls 1 and 2, King Naresuan the Great International Exhibition and Convention Center, Naresuan University, Phitsanulok Province.
