ENVI Mahidol Attends Mahidol University's New Student Orientation for Academic Year 2026

On July 31, 2026, Assistant Professor Dr. Monthira Yutitham, Deputy Dean for Policy, Planning, and Finance, representing the Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, led first-year undergraduate students for the 2026 academic year to attend the Mahidol University New Student Orientation. The event was held at Prince Mahidol Hall, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.

On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Monthira Yutitham, alongside Mahidol University executives and leaders from various faculties, officially welcomed the incoming students to the university. They also provided valuable insights and guidance regarding academic pursuits and university life.

Today’s orientation serves as a monumental first step into university life, opening a world of learning for new students to unlock their full potential and gather invaluable experiences. This foundation aims to prepare them to become high-quality graduates who contribute meaningfully to society.

The Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies at Mahidol University hosted the "New Student Orientation for Academic Year 2026." The event opened with congratulatory remarks from Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty. Welcoming addresses were also delivered by Mr. Suthee Sunitkul, Vice President of the Faculty’s Alumni Association (representing the Association President), and Assistant Professor Dr. Aronn Siwatana Tabucanon, Associate Dean for Education and International Relations, who congratulated both undergraduate and graduate students at Lecture Room 4224, 2nd floor, Environment Pathandol Building.

The orientation aimed to prepare new students before beginning their university journey. The program included introductions to academic advisors, educational support staff, faculty facilities, student services, safety measures, and student development projects at Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.

In addition, students met with faculty members and program executive committees from their respective departments. These sessions provided guidance on academic expectations and university life, while fostering positive connections among faculty, senior students, and newcomers—creating a memorable impression and ensuring a smooth transition into university life.

ENVI Mahidol Welcomes Delegates from Henan Normal University and Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) for Academic Exchange on Education, Research, and Sustainability

24 July 2026, the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University welcomed delegates from the School of Social Sciences, Henan Normal University (HNU), People's Republic of China, and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) for an academic visit and study tour at the Satra Methee Dr. Pongpit Piyapong Conference Room, Badhanatala Environment Building, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University.

On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Noppol Arunrat, Deputy Dean for Research and Academic Services, delivered the welcome remarks, introduced the Faculty's academic staff, and joined the delegates for a commemorative group photograph, reaffirming the strong relationship and fostering academic collaboration between the participating institutions.

The program featured a presentation by Dr. Jakkapon Phanthuwongpakdee, who provided an overview of Mahidol University and the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, highlighting the Faculty's academic programmes, research achievements, and strategic directions. This was followed by a special lecture by Dr. Achiraya Chaichaloempreecha on the topic, "Sustainability in Action: From Thailand's Climate Targets to Mahidol's Net-Zero Campus," which showcased Thailand's climate ambitions and Mahidol University's initiatives toward achieving a Net-Zero Campus.

Following the presentations, the delegates joined a guided tram tour of Mahidol University to explore the campus environment, learning facilities, and sustainable campus management practices. The visit served as a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge, strengthen academic partnerships, and enhance research collaboration between the participating institutions at the international level.

ENVI Mahidol Welcomes the MU AUN-QA Faculty-Level Assessment Committee

On July 23, 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, delivered welcoming remarks to the Assessment Committee for the MU AUN-QA Faculty-Level Assessment under the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) framework. The event took place at the Assoc. Prof. Nart Tuntawiroon Meeting Room, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University.

The assessment was conducted from July 23–24, 2026, by an assessment committee appointed by Mahidol University, comprising Associate Professor Dr. Arisara Leksansern (Chairperson) and Dr. Wimonmas Boonyangyuen (Committee Member). The objective of the evaluation was to assess the operational quality of the Faculty's undergraduate and graduate degree programs in accordance with the faculty-level MU AUN-QA criteria.

On this occasion, members of the executive team, program administrative committees, faculty members, and staff actively participated in the assessment process and presented program outcomes. The sessions also provided a platform to exchange perspectives and receive valuable feedback from the committee. These insights will be utilized to enhance educational management and elevate operational standards in alignment with international quality benchmarks, thereby driving continuous and sustainable development for both the academic programs and the institution.

ENVI Mahidol Signs Letter of Intent with Mariano Marcos State University, Philippines, Strengthening International Academic Collaboration

20 July 2026, the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, held an online Letter of Intent (LOI) signing ceremony with Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), Republic of the Philippines. The ceremony marked a shared commitment to fostering academic cooperation, research collaboration, and international networking, while further strengthening the longstanding friendship between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Republic of the Philippines.

On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, signed the Letter of Intent with Dr. Virgilio Julius P. Manzano Jr., President of Mariano Marcos State University. During the ceremony, both leaders delivered messages reaffirming their commitment to advancing future collaboration between the two institutions. Witnessing the signing on behalf of Mahidol University were Dr. Praewa Wongburi, Assistant Dean for Policy, Planning and International Relations; Assistant Professor Dr. Piangjai Peerakiatkhajohn, Assistant Dean for Administration; and Dr. Shreema Rana, Foreign Expert. Representing Mariano Marcos State University as witnesses were Dr. Arlene L. Gonzales, Director of Sustainability and Futures Thinking, and Professor Jeannet G. Dials, Director of External Linkages and Partnerships.

The Letter of Intent reflects the mutual interest of both institutions in exploring a broad range of collaborative activities, including the organization of international lectures, seminars, and academic programs; the development of certificate and degree programs; joint research projects; academic conferences, symposia, and workshops; the exchange of innovative teaching practices and curriculum development; faculty, researcher, staff, and student exchanges; collaborative research publications in reputable journals; as well as internship, on-the-job training, and community engagement initiatives.

This partnership represents an important milestone in expanding the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies' international academic network. It is expected to promote excellence in education, research, innovation, and sustainable development while creating valuable opportunities for knowledge exchange among faculty members, researchers, staff, and students. The Letter of Intent also lays the foundation for future formal agreements and the implementation of concrete collaborative projects between the two institutions.

ENVI Mahidol Welcomes 'Khui Kan Chan Mit' Show, Highlighting Its Role in Driving Environmental Action and Social Innovation.

On July 8, 2026, the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies at Mahidol University welcomed Professor Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., President of Mahidol University, and Associate Professor Dr. Vichita Ractham, Vice President for Corporate Communication and Image, on the occasion of filming the program “Khui Kan Chan Mit.” The program highlighted the faculty’s vital role in driving environmental research, knowledge, and practical innovations that serve society. Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty, participated in a discussion on integrating education and research for sustainable solutions, with a focus on tackling PM2.5 air pollution. During the visit, the executive team toured the faculty’s air quality monitoring station and observed a hands-on practical session in the "Water Quality Analysis" course, where students gained real-world professional skills using advanced analytical instruments to detect pollutants.

Additionally, the program team viewed presentations on key research innovations, including “Envi Nose”—a compact air quality detector that combines engineering and statistical models to enhance measurement accuracy and forecasting. They were also introduced to the “Red Flag Dust Warning Project,” a community-level initiative that simplifies complex air quality data into clear warning symbols, allowing the public to quickly assess PM2.5 health risks and take preventive action. This visit showcases the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies' leadership in environmental education and research, demonstrating its strong commitment to delivering tangible benefits to society.
