ENVI Mahidol Strengthens Research Collaboration with MIT

24 March 2026, the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University participated in an academic exchange meeting with Prof. Retsef Levi from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) at the Office of the President, Mahidol University.

Assistant Professor Dr. Allan Sriratana Tabucanon, Deputy Dean for Education and International Relations, together with Professor Dr. Duangrat Inthorn, Dr. Jakkapon Phanthuwongpakdee, and Dr. Tatiya Siripongpreda, joined the discussion and presented their expertise in environmental research and innovation.

Key areas of potential collaboration were discussed, including the commercialization of PM2.5 early warning systems, the development of flood warning sensors, and the application of lac-based materials in medical and other fields.
The meeting aimed to strengthen research collaboration and explore future joint academic and innovation initiatives between the two institutions.


ENVI Mahidol Hosts Kellogg MBA Delegation to Discuss BCG and Sustainable Development Policy

24 March 2026, the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University welcomed four MBA students from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, USA, during their visit to Thailand to explore sustainable development policies, particularly the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) economy model.

On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, together with Assistant Professor Dr. Allan Sriratana Tabucanon, warmly received the delegation and participated in a discussion session. The meeting focused on environmental policy roles in industrial development, green economy transitions, and opportunities for future international academic collaboration.

This engagement highlights an important step in strengthening global academic networks and reinforces the Faculty’s role as a leading institution in environmental knowledge and sustainability at the international level.


Mahidol Hackathon 2026, organized by ENVI Mahidol, ICT, MUIC, and iNT, reaches its final round, driving DeepTech innovations toward a sustainable Smart Campus

On March 21, 2026, Mahidol University, led by the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, in collaboration with the Institute for Technology and Innovation Management (iNT), the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Mahidol University International College (MUIC), organized the Pitching Day and Award Ceremony of Mahidol Hackathon 2026 under the theme “DeepTech for the Smarter Campus: Driving Sustainable Innovation with Environmental Impact” at the Grand Auditorium, ICT Building, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.

The opening ceremony was honored by the presence of Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Patsarin Rodpothong Wongkamhang, Associate Dean for Strategic Planning and Quality Development, Mahidol University International College (on behalf of the Dean), and Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat, Dean of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, who delivered welcome remarks and officially opened the competition. Assistant Professor Dr. Tipajin Thaipisutikul, Assistant to the President for Research, delivered the report and served as the master of ceremony.

This event marks the final round of the competition, featuring 10 student teams from various faculties across Mahidol University who were selected to present their innovative ideas and projects (Final Pitching) to a distinguished panel of judges, including:

This year’s competition focuses on the application of Deep Technologies such as AI, IoT, Big Data, and Green Tech to develop solutions for a “Smarter Campus” driven by technology and data, while promoting environmental sustainability. The initiative also supports the continuation of innovative ideas from the competition toward real-world implementation within the university, scaling to communities, and potential commercialization in collaboration with partner organizations.

Over the past two months, participants have engaged in intensive hands-on learning processes, including workshops, expert mentoring, and prototype development. Mahidol Hackathon 2026 is therefore not only a competition, but also a platform for nurturing a new generation of innovators equipped with the ability to think critically and develop solutions to address environmental and sustainability challenges, in alignment with Mahidol University’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

ENVI Mahidol Concludes MU-NU Spring Training Program 2026, Enhancing International Experience for Thai and Japanese Students

March 20, 2026, the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, held the closing ceremony of the “MU-NU Spring Training Program 2026” at the Associate Professor Dr. Nart Tuntawiroon Meeting Room.
During the ceremony, Japanese and Thai students jointly delivered their final presentations, summarizing their learning outcomes, field activities, and experiences gained throughout the program.

The session was honored by the presence of distinguished faculty members and international experts, including Professor Dr. Duangrat Inthorn, Dr. Praewa Wongburi, Dr. Pisut Nakmuenwai, Dr. Achiraya Chaichaloempreecha, Dr. Jakkapon Phanthuwongpakdee, Dr. Shreema Rana, and Mr. Chan Myae Ko Ko, who attended the presentations and provided valuable feedback to the students.

Following the presentations, Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, delivered the closing remarks and presented certificates to students who successfully completed the program, with faculty members joining in to congratulate the participants.

The program was conducted from February 16 to March 20, 2026, under the academic collaboration between the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, and the Faculty of Environmental Science, Nagasaki University, Japan. Participants included undergraduate students from Nagasaki University and students from the Bachelor of Science programs in Environmental Science and Technology and in Natural Resources and Environmental Management (International Program).

Throughout the program, students engaged in experiential learning through the “Learning by Doing” approach, working closely with experts in environmental fields. The program fostered academic knowledge, teamwork skills, and intercultural exchange, reflecting the Faculty’s commitment to preparing students for the global stage.


ENVI Mahidol Enhances Thai–Japanese Students’ Field Learning Experience at Ko Lad E-Tan through the MU-NU Spring Training Program 2026

Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, organized an undergraduate student exchange program with Japan under the “MU-NU Spring Training Program 2026” from 16 February to 20 March 2026. On 11 March 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Noppol Arunrat, Deputy Dean for Research and Academic Services, together with Associate Professor Dr. Sukanya Sereenonchai, Chair of the Bachelor of Science Program in Environmental Science and Technology, and Dr. Achiraya Chaichalermprecha, led Japanese exchange students and Thai students on a field study visit to Ko Lad E-Tan, Nakhon Pathom Province. The visit aimed to explore natural resource management practices, renewable energy applications, and sustainable development approaches closely connected with local community livelihoods.

Students learned about solar-powered tourist boats as a practical example of clean energy application at the community level. In addition, local experts contributed valuable knowledge throughout the program. Ms. Radklao Meekul shared insights on the utilization of natural dyes, demonstrating the creative extension of local resources. Mr. Natee Sudprasert, founder of Aunrak Farm, presented integrated farm management concepts and sustainable agricultural development linked with the community.
Furthermore, Mr. Pathom Phoddaeng provided knowledge on stingless bee farming, reflecting balanced and sustainable use of biological resources.
This field activity played a significant role in strengthening students’ experiential learning skills, fostering integrated perspectives on environmental management and sustainable development, and reinforcing tangible international academic collaboration between educational institutions and local communities.
