ENVI Mahidol Partners with Climate Change Department to Deliver Climate Risk Assessment Training

The Climate Change and Environmental Research Center, Department of Climate Change and Environment, in collaboration with Mahidol University (Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies), organized a training program titled: 

“Climate Risk Assessment Process for Developing Climate Change Adaptation Plans for Provinces and Local Authorities” 

The training was held from 19–20 March 2026 at TK Palace & Convention Hotel, Bangkok.

This training aims to enable participants to practice analyzing data, identifying hazards, impacts, and vulnerability factors that influence risks across multiple dimensions. The learning activities cover six key sectors: water resource management; agriculture and food security; tourism; public health; natural resource management; and human settlements and human security.

Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, together with executives and staff, met with the Governor of Nakhon Pathom Province to propose collaborative approaches for environmental operations at the local level.

The meeting was held at the Nakhon Pathom Provincial Office of Natural Resources and Environment, located at the Nakhon Pathom Provincial Hall.

ENVI Mahidol presented collaboration in three key areas:

  • Promoting knowledge and assessment of Carbon Footprint to support local-level carbon neutrality goals
  • Managing air pollution and monitoring PM2.5 through community-based measurement tools
  • Enhancing environmental standards of local restaurants alongside quality development

These efforts aim to jointly establish concrete and sustainable implementation approaches aligned with the policies and development plans of Nakhon Pathom Province moving forward.


Advancing the “Red Flag Dust Alert” Project to Address PM2.5 in Schools and Communities

ENVI Mahidol continues to advance its Red Flag Dust Alert initiative, an air quality monitoring and warning system designed to address PM2.5 pollutions in Salaya Subdistrict. 

The project team met with administrators of Watsalawan School to discuss implementation strategies. The initiative aims to safeguard the health of students and school personnel by providing timely air quality data and early warnings.


ENVI Mahidol Joins Meeting of Environmental Academic Leaders

ENVI Mahidol participated in a meeting of leading environmental institutions hosted at Prince of Songkla University, Phuket Campus. 

The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration in education, research, and academic services. Key discussions included preparations for inter-institutional student and staff activities, as well as upcoming academic conferences aimed at promoting student research at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

 Participants also explored opportunities to expand research partnerships and enhance access to joint funding initiatives.


ENVI Mahidol Enhances Thai–Japanese Students’ Field Learning Experience at Ko Lad E-Tan through the MU-NU Spring Training Program 2026

Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, organized an undergraduate student exchange program with Japan under the “MU-NU Spring Training Program 2026” from 16 February to 20 March 2026. On 11 March 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Noppol Arunrat, Deputy Dean for Research and Academic Services, together with Associate Professor Dr. Sukanya Sereenonchai, Chair of the Bachelor of Science Program in Environmental Science and Technology, and Dr. Achiraya Chaichalermprecha, led Japanese exchange students and Thai students on a field study visit to Ko Lad E-Tan, Nakhon Pathom Province. The visit aimed to explore natural resource management practices, renewable energy applications, and sustainable development approaches closely connected with local community livelihoods.

Students learned about solar-powered tourist boats as a practical example of clean energy application at the community level. In addition, local experts contributed valuable knowledge throughout the program. Ms. Radklao Meekul shared insights on the utilization of natural dyes, demonstrating the creative extension of local resources. Mr. Natee Sudprasert, founder of Aunrak Farm, presented integrated farm management concepts and sustainable agricultural development linked with the community.
Furthermore, Mr. Pathom Phoddaeng provided knowledge on stingless bee farming, reflecting balanced and sustainable use of biological resources.
This field activity played a significant role in strengthening students’ experiential learning skills, fostering integrated perspectives on environmental management and sustainable development, and reinforcing tangible international academic collaboration between educational institutions and local communities.

The Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, co-hosted MU Blue Night 2026: Deep Blue Synergy, the 9th Mahidol Homecoming event, held at Mahidol University, Salaya Campus. 

The event brought together alumni, faculty members, staff, and students from across the university, fostering a strong sense of community and institutional pride in a lively and welcoming atmosphere.
