On 17 June 2026, the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, through its Policy and Planning Unit, organized KM Day under the Knowledge Management (KM) initiative. The event served as a platform for faculty personnel to exchange Best Practices, while promoting knowledge creation and sharing to enhance work efficiency and organizational development.
On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Montira Yutitham, Associate Dean for Policy and Planning, delivered the opening report, highlighting the objectives and significance of the event. Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, officially opened the event and addressed participants, emphasizing the importance of knowledge management, experience sharing, and transforming routine work into innovation as key drivers of sustainable organizational development.
The event was a continuation of the "Best Practices Identification" initiative conducted during March–April 2026, which invited support staff to submit outstanding work practices across various missions, including teaching and learning, research, academic services, and administrative support. Following the evaluation process, seven outstanding Best Practice projects were selected by the faculty committee.
Following the presentations, Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit presented the Outstanding Best Practices Award, together with a cash prize of 5,000 THB, to the project entitled "Red Flag for Dust Alert: A Community-Based PM2.5 Early Warning Innovation for Practical Implementation and Sustainability," presented by the Social Engagement Unit in collaboration with the Information Technology Unit under the General Administration Division.
Certificates of recognition were also presented to six additional Best Practice projects:
- "Chemical Inventory Control and Monitoring System" by the Environmental Laboratory and International Standards Unit;
- "Sanitary Pad Waste Management through a Red-Bin Segregation System in Women's Restrooms" by the Physical Facilities and General Services Unit, General Administration Division;
- "Transforming the Search of Faculty Orders and Announcements Using NotebookLM" by the Documentation Unit and Information Technology Unit, General Administration Division;
- "Digital Personal Book System for Support Staff" by the Human Resources Unit, General Administration Division;
- "Fieldwork Flow: One-Click Management – Simplifying Fieldwork through an Integrated End-to-End Workflow and Documentation System" by the Educational Services Unit; and
- "Real-Time Strategic Performance Monitoring Dashboard" by the Policy and Planning Unit.
The KM Day event reflected the capability of faculty personnel to develop innovative best practices from their daily work and demonstrated the Faculty's commitment to fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Such initiatives play a vital role in strengthening organizational excellence and supporting the Faculty's sustainable development.
