On 2 December 2025, the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean, together with Dr. Praewa Wongburi, Assistant Dean for Policy, Planning and International Relations, Assistant Professor Dr. Piangjai Peerakiatkhajohn, Assistant Dean for Administration, and Dr. Jakkapon Phanthuwongpakdee, Lecturer, participated in an activity introducing the “Teacher’s Guidebook for Carbon Neutrality.” The event was organized under the Carbon Neutrality Campus Joint Unit, a collaboration among Mahidol University, UNESCAP, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and was co-hosted by the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies and the Nakhon Sawan Provincial Education Office.
The activity welcomed more than 70 participants, including school administrators, supervisors, academics, education personnel, and representatives from the Nakhon Sawan Provincial Education Office, the Secondary Educational Service Area Office Nakhon Sawan, Nakhon Sawan Municipality, the Provincial Learning Promotion Center, the District Learning Promotion Center (Mueang Nakhon Sawan), Nakhon Sawan Rajabhat University, and the Nakhon Sawan Office of Natural Resources and Environment. Their participation highlights the strong collaboration and growing commitment among educational and local agencies in driving carbon neutrality efforts forward.
Held at the Nipathamwong Conference Room, Mahidol University, Nakhon Sawan Campus, the event introduced the Teacher’s Guidebook for Carbon Neutrality, developed to support educators in integrating key concepts climate change, carbon footprint calculation, carbon reduction activity design, and environmental learning case studies—into classroom practices in a concrete and practical manner. The guidebook also aims to empower schools to design activities that effectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
During the event, Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit presented the concept of the “Carbon Neutrality School,” outlining operational frameworks that educational institutions can adapt to advance toward becoming carbon-neutral model schools. The session also featured the School Living Lab model, showcased through successful case studies to inspire schools in Nakhon Sawan to develop activities suited to their own contexts. A roundtable discussion provided a platform for participants to share ideas, propose carbon reduction activities, and co-create strategies for establishing a provincial network of Carbon Neutrality Schools, with the long-term goal of expanding toward a strong and sustainable School Living Lab network.
The activity concluded with a summary of key insights and a group photo session, marking an important step forward in strengthening the capacity of educational institutions in Nakhon Sawan Province and enhancing their role in driving society toward a sustainable, carbon-neutral future.
