On 18 August 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, delivered welcoming remarks to graduate students from the School of Civil, Environmental and Chemical Engineering, Changwon National University, Republic of Korea, on the occasion of their academic visit and participation in a series of academic lectures.

The event was coordinated by Associate Professor Dr. Kritana Prueksakorn as the lead coordinator under the academic collaboration framework established by the Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions.

The program featured distinguished faculty members from the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies presenting lectures on a range of topics. Dr. Jakkapon Phanthuwongpakdee discussed “Waste Utilization for Bioenergy and Biomaterial,” while Assistant Professor Dr. Preeyaporn Koedrith presented “Santol Water Kefir: A Novel Probiotic Beverage from Tropical Fruit with Geographical Indication.” Associate Professor Dr. Kritana Prueksakorn shared insights on “Sustainable Agrotourism,” and Professor Dr. Duangrudee Inthra covered “Environmental Health and Risk Assessment.”

Following the lectures, Mr. Nontakorn Poodankai, an alumnus of the Bachelor of Science Program in Environmental Science and Technology (ES), shared his experiences studying at Changwon National University.

On July 24, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noppol Arunrat, Deputy Dean for Research and Academic Services, Dr. Praewa Wongburi, Assistant to the Dean for Policy, Planning, and International Relations, along with faculty members, foreign experts, and staff, warmly welcomed Professor Zhao Yang, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Division, Henan Normal University, accompanied by a group of 16 undergraduate students from the College of Social Affairs and College of History and Culture, Henan Normal University, People’s Republic of China, as well as Ms. Tang Sai, Program Officer, and Ms. Mutita Wattanasuk, Associate Researcher from the Belt and Road Research Center, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).

The delegation visited the Faculty on an academic study tour focused on development and sustainability initiatives at both faculty and university levels. The visit highlighted interdisciplinary approaches to environmental and natural resource education and academic operations, incorporating both scientific and social science perspectives to promote a deeper understanding of sustainability in diverse contexts.

On this occasion, the Faculty was honored to have Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Sereenonchai, faculty member, deliver a special lecture on the topic: “Application of Behavioral and Communication Theories for Well-being: Insights from Thailand.” The lecture took place at Satra Methee Dr. Pongpit Piyapong Conference Room, Badhanatala Environment Building, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University. Following the session, the delegation also enjoyed a tram tour around the Salaya Campus.

The program was coordinated by Dr. Wenchao Xue, Director of the AIT Belt and Road Research Center (BRRC), Academic Program Chair of Environmental Engineering and Management, School of Engineering and Technology (SET), AIT, and Asst. 18 July, 2025, the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, officially launched the "Carbon Neutrality Teacher's Manual." The event saw participation from various sectors, including teachers, school directors, and officials from different agencies nationwide, all aiming to collectively promote knowledge of carbon neutrality in classrooms, schools, and organizations across the country.

During the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, emphasized that this manual is a crucial tool designed to help teachers transform classrooms into spaces where students, as the new generation, can learn, take action, and be inspired to be part of global change. This is achieved through mechanisms that drive carbon neutrality and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions, aligning with national goals to mitigate climate change impacts. The knowledge from this manual will lead to the development of a "School Living Lab," which creates learning and experimental areas for carbon reduction at the school level and fosters change leaders among students.

The Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, is continuously committed to promoting sustainable education, particularly through the Carbon Neutrality Campus (CNC) project. This project is supported by Mahidol University funding and benefits from collaboration with international organizations like UNESCAP and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The initiative has been extended to the school level, based on the belief that youth are a vital force in driving society in the long term. Its main goals are to compile and disseminate knowledge about carbon neutrality and to develop the knowledge and skills that empower Thai educational institutions to achieve carbon neutrality and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.

The "Carbon Neutrality Teacher's Manual" consists of 8 important lessons: Sustainability and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Climate Change, Greenhouse Gases and Their Impacts, Life Cycle Concept, Carbon Footprint, Greenhouse Gas Sequestration, Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction, and Carbon Neutrality and Net-Zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions. The manual includes practical details to help teachers implement the content effectively, such as lesson objectives, key concepts, teaching guidelines, activity examples, quizzes, and assessment methods.

Towards the end of the event, the organizers invited all network schools to share their feedback and pictures of activities using the manual. Additionally, the concept of a "School Living Lab" was announced, which is a new approach to creating learning and experimental spaces for carbon reduction at the school level.

The event, held at the Associate Professor Dr. Nart Tuntawiroon Meeting Room (Room 1103), Nart Tuntawiroon Building (Building 1), gathered faculty members, researchers, staff, and research coordinators. The activity was divided into two parts: the first session focused on operational staff, aiming to better understand real on-site challenges, foster collaboration within the university, and provide tailored consultations to enhance work efficiency.
