5th Environment and Natural Resources International Conference (ENRIC 2024)

14 November, 2024, 09.00 hrs, Professor Piyamitr Sritara, MD, FRCP, President of Mahidol University, delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony of the international conference “The 5th Environment and Natural Resources International Conference (ENRIC 2024): Net Zero Now: Action for a Sustainable World”, which was followed by the report of the conference objectives given by Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies.
The conference featured a keynote speech by Dr. Somkiat Tangkitvanich from the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI) on “How can Thailand achieve its net zero goal?” This was followed by Associate Professor Dr. TIAN Xu from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, who discussed “Environmental and Resource Impacts from an Aggressive Regionalized Carbon Peak Policy.” Dr. Porakrit Leophairatana from TPI Polene Public Company Limited then presented on “Net Zero Now: Action for a Sustainable World.”

The “5th Environment and Natural Resources International Conference (ENRIC 2024): Net Zero Now: Action for a Sustainable World” took place from November 14–15, 2024, organized by Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies at Mahidol University. The conference aimed to provide an international platform for researchers, graduate students, and emerging scientists to present current research in environmental science. It also encouraged the exchange of knowledge and experiences in environmental management and research among academics, government and private sector representatives, and environmental organizations. Additionally, the event promoted regional research collaboration across Asia to enhance public awareness of environmental and natural resource issues.
The conference was supported by Changwon National University under the Industry-university Cooperation 3.0 (LINC 3.0) network from South Korea, along with TPI Polene Public Company Limited, WGC Company Limited, PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited, Arnoma Grand Bangkok, and KEEEN Biotech Group Company Limited. A total of 53 presenters from universities and environmental organizations across Thailand and Asia participated, with 35 oral and 18 poster presentations.
In the afternoon, presentations were grouped under the main themes: Impact of Climate Change and Pollution, Mitigation, Adaptation, Policy and Governance Research, and Innovations and Technologies for Net Zero. These sessions took place in Arnoma Grand Ballroom 1, 2 and 3 at the Arnoma Grand Hotel, Bangkok.
