On 24 November 2025, from 11.00 to 11.30 AM (Bangkok time), the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, participated in the signing ceremony of a Letter of Intent (LoI) under the Student Exchange Programme between Mahidol University and Universitas Merdeka Malang (UNMER), Indonesia. The ceremony was held virtually via Zoom. Representatives from the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Praewa Wongburi, Assistant to the Dean for Policy, Planning, and International Relations; and Dr. Shreema Rana, Foreign Expert, along with administrators and faculty members from both institutions.
The ceremony opened with welcoming remarks, followed by an explanation of the purpose of the LoI, which serves as a preliminary framework that will progress toward the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The collaboration covers areas such as education, sustainability, environmental studies, and student exchange, contributing toward advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
A key highlight of the event was the virtual signing of the LoI by executives from both institutions, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit from Mahidol University, together with Dr. Retna Safriliana, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business; Dr. Ir. Erna Winansih, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; and Prof. Dr. Widji Astuti, Head of the Tourism Diploma Program from UNMER, Indonesia.
Following the signing, the two institutions held a discussion on operational arrangements for the upcoming exchange programme. This collaboration marks another significant step for the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, in strengthening its international academic network and fostering continuous learning and exchange opportunities between students and faculty from both universities.
