7 May, 2025 May 7, 2025 Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, presented on the topic “Thailand’s Education Sector Toward Carbon Neutrality”, during Session 1: Carbon Neutrality Campus Session, in which the faculty was honored to serve as a co-host. This session was part of the international academic conference “ESG Xchange 2025: ESG for Climate Actions International Summit.”, organized by the World Green Organization (WGO), the focus of which is on ESG standards (Environment, Social, and Governance), carbon neutrality, and sustainability and was held at Hall 5G, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.
The session also featured distinguished speakers including Professor Xu Tian from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, who presented on “Policy Approaches to Achieving Net-Zero”, and Mr. Phromporn Israngkul na Ayutthaya from Global Green Chemicals PCL, who presented on "Corporate Pathways to Carbon Neutrality in Thai Industry".
Following the presentations, a panel discussion was held under the topic “Carbon Neutrality in Southeast Asian Campuses”, featuring panelists:

Professor of Practice Ekkachai Mahaek, Sustainable University Network (SUN Thailand)

The discussion was moderated by Dr. Jakkapon Phanthuwongpakdee from the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies.
Participation in this academic conference was part of the “Carbon Neutrality Campus” project, a collaborative initiative by the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, aimed at academic exchange and the development of a Joint Unit on Carbon Neutrality Campus, in partnership with Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP). The project is supported by funding from Mahidol University, with the primary objective of gathering and disseminating knowledge on carbon neutrality, as well as organizing seminars and training to develop knowledge and skills that empower Thai educational institutions to achieve carbon neutrality and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.
