ENVI Mahidol Hosts Special Talk Series Day to Enhance Perspectives on the Green Economy and Sustainable Cities, Strengthening Thailand–Indonesia Collaboration

21 January 2026, the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University organized the Special Talk Series Day at the Badhanatala Environment Building (Building 4). The event aimed to promote academic collaboration between Thailand and the Republic of Indonesia under the exchange program with Universitas Merdeka Malang (UNMER). The program focused on exchanging knowledge on the green economy, environmental technologies, and approaches to sustainable urban development.

The morning sessions featured insightful lectures on green business opportunities and regional cooperation within ASEAN by Dr. Aditya Budi Krisnanto from UNMER, as well as a presentation on the application of solar energy in sustainable aquaculture systems using a Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) by Ir. Subairi. In addition, I Kadek Putra Igmas shared perspectives and experiences related to environmental sustainability.

Furthermore, Associate Professor Dr. Noppol Arunrat, the Faculty's Deputy Dean for Research and Academic, also Services delivered a special lecture entitled “Co-creating Sustainable Cities: Community–University–City in Action,” emphasizing the importance of integrated collaboration between communities and academic institutions in building sustainable cities.

On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, presented certificates of appreciation to the speakers from UNMER as a gesture of gratitude and to strengthen academic relations. The event also included a discussion session on future collaboration, covering student exchange opportunities, scholarship support, and joint initiatives in research and teaching between the two institutions.
