On 16 January 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, together with Associate Professor Dr. Noppol Arunrat, Associate Dean for Research and Academic Services, and faculty staff, visited the Salaya community to listen to public feedback on the “Red Flag for Dust Alert: Community-Based Air Quality Monitoring System for Sustainable Environment” project.
The delegation met with Mr. Phon Kaewthong, Deputy Mayor of Salaya Municipality, and Mr. Thanat Phuangdokmai, Head of Academic Services and Outreach Division, Acting Director of the Strategy and Planning Office, Salaya Municipality, to exchange insights and recommendations for improving the PM2.5 monitoring and alert system in line with local needs.
The project aims to develop a community-based air quality monitoring and alert system, promoting public participation in environmental monitoring. The pilot area in Salaya Municipality, Nakhon Pathom Province, is equipped with four prototype monitoring devices installed at key locations, including the municipal office, railway market, Salawan Temple, and the Rom Sai Community Exercise Area along Maha Sawat Canal.
