ENVI Mahdiol and TICA congratulate participants of the international training on “Natural Disasters Management”

24 June, 2025, at 14.00 hrs., Mr. Grisada Phakakarn, Director of Human Resources Development Cooperation Division, representing the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), presided over the closing ceremony and delivered congratulatory remarks to the participants of the international training course on “Natural Disasters Management.” The event took place at the Professor (Special) Lek Moncharoen Conference Room, 2nd Floor, Badhanatala Environment Building , Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University. He also presented certificates to the 30 participants, who represented environmental agencies from both the public and private sectors around the world. The training course, held from June 4 to 24, 2025, aimed to enhance participants' capacities in disaster management, preparedness, and awareness of natural hazards. The program was supported by TICA and directed by Associate Professor Dr.Thamarat Phutthai, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University.


ENVI Mahidol welcomes a study group from Ban Mai School, Vietnam.

11 June, 2025, 09.00 – 10.00 hrs. Assistant Professor Dr. Allan Sriratana Tabucanon, Deputy Dean for Education and International Relations, together with Lecturer Dr. Praewa Wongburi,
Assistant to the Dean for Policy, Planning, and International Relations, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, welcomed a study group from Ban Mai School, Vietnam, led by Mr. Chung Nguyen Khanh, Principal.

On this occasion, Assistant Professor Dr. Allan and Dr. Praewa presented information about the Bachelor of Science Program in Natural Resources and Environmental Management (International Program) and the “Carbon Neutrality Campus” project to the study group, which included high school students from Ban Mai School. The session took place at the Satra Methee Dr. Pongpit Piyapong Conference Room, Badhanatala Environment Building, followed by a guided tour of the Faculty’s science laboratories.

This study tour was organized by the Office of Educational Administration, with Dr. Kamonchanok Pakphum, Head of the Academic Administration Group, Learning Subject Administration Group, serving as the lead coordinator Kanchanabhisek Wittayalai School, Nakhon Pathom Province, served as the main coordinating institution.


ENVI Mahidol launched the “Teacher’s Guide for the Carbon Neutrality Curriculum”

June 5, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. — The Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty, launched the “Teacher’s Guide for the Carbon Neutrality Curriculum” under the Carbon Neutrality Campus (CNC) Project. This project is a collaboration between the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies at Mahidol University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).

The project aims to promote education on greenhouse gas reduction and carbon neutrality at the secondary school level through practical approaches that support hands-on learning, tailored to the students' context. It also seeks to foster knowledge exchange among network schools and expand into long-term collaboration.

Secondary school teachers from the Carbon Neutrality Campus network attended the guide’s launch and received copies to apply in their schools’ teaching practices. The event was held in Room 4224, Pattamandon Environment Building, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University.

This activity was part of the “ENVI Mahidol Open House World Environment Day” event, organized in celebration of World Environment Day, observed annually on June 5. The event aimed to raise environmental awareness, enhance knowledge, and encourage participation from all sectors in sustainable environmental stewardship.


ENVI Mahidol organizes international training on the topic of “Natural Disasters Management”

On June 4, 2025, at 1:00 PM, Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, presided over the opening ceremony of the international training course titled “Natural Disasters Management” at the Professor (Special) Lek Moncharoen Conference Room, 2nd Floor, Badhanatala Environment Building, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University.

This training is held from June 4 to 24, 2025, with the aim of enhancing the capacity in disaster management, preparedness, and awareness of natural disasters among participants, who are representatives from environmental agencies in both the public and private sectors worldwide. The program is supported by the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), with Associate Professor Dr. Thamarat Phutthai serving as the course director.


ENVI Mahidol and Partners Conducted Sustainability Study Visit at The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean, together with personnel from the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, Khun Phromphorn Issarangkun Na Ayutthaya, executive of Global Green Chemicals Public Company Limited, Dr. Sarawanee Singthong from the Office of National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO), and Professor of Practice Dr. Ekkachai Mahaek from the Sustainable University Network of Thailand (SUN Thailand), participated in a study visit at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China. The purpose of the visit was to learn about sustainability practices, such as solar cells, electric vehicles at the Smart EV park, and food waste management for biogas production.


ENVI Mahidol Showcased Carbon Neutrality Efforts at ESG Xchange 2025

7 May, 2025 May 7, 2025 Associate Professor Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, presented on the topic “Thailand’s Education Sector Toward Carbon Neutrality”, during Session 1: Carbon Neutrality Campus Session, in which the faculty was honored to serve as a co-host. This session was part of the international academic conference “ESG Xchange 2025: ESG for Climate Actions International Summit.”, organized by the World Green Organization (WGO), the focus of which is on ESG standards (Environment, Social, and Governance), carbon neutrality, and sustainability and was held at Hall 5G, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China.

The session also featured distinguished speakers including Professor Xu Tian from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, who presented on “Policy Approaches to Achieving Net-Zero”, and Mr. Phromporn Israngkul na Ayutthaya from Global Green Chemicals PCL, who presented on "Corporate Pathways to Carbon Neutrality in Thai Industry".

Following the presentations, a panel discussion was held under the topic “Carbon Neutrality in Southeast Asian Campuses”, featuring panelists:
Dr. Saravanee Singtong, Office of National Higher Education Science Research and Innovation Policy Council (NXPO)
Professor of Practice Ekkachai Mahaek, Sustainable University Network (SUN Thailand)
Professor Xu Tian, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China
The discussion was moderated by Dr. Jakkapon Phanthuwongpakdee from the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies.

Participation in this academic conference was part of the “Carbon Neutrality Campus” project, a collaborative initiative by the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, aimed at academic exchange and the development of a Joint Unit on Carbon Neutrality Campus, in partnership with Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP). The project is supported by funding from Mahidol University, with the primary objective of gathering and disseminating knowledge on carbon neutrality, as well as organizing seminars and training to develop knowledge and skills that empower Thai educational institutions to achieve carbon neutrality and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.
