On 22 September 2025, the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, led by Associate Professor Dr.Kitikorn Charmondusit, Dean, together with the faculty’s executives and lecturers—Dr. Praewa Wongburi, Assistant Dean for Policy, Planning, and International Relations; Assistant Professor Dr. Piangjai Peerakeattikajorn; Dr. Chakkraphon Phanthuwongphakdee; Dr. Panuphat Prasertpong; Dr. Shreema Rana; and Miss Bernice Boakye, an exchange intern—conducted the School Living Lab activity at Mahidol Wittayanusorn School (MWIT).
The School Living Lab is designed to promote comprehensive learning by integrating knowledge and skills, such as greenhouse gas emission calculation (Carbon Footprint) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA); hands-on practice through the CFO Challenge and school-based carbon reduction projects; and behavioral development and environmental awareness, encouraging responsible environmental actions within daily life and the community. The initiative aims to expand its impact to other schools and broader society.
During the activity, students engaged in carbon footprint calculation under assigned scenarios, experimented with carbon offset practices, and presented environmental and carbon neutrality project ideas. Faculty members from Mahidol University participated by listening to the presentations and providing constructive feedback.
The ENVI Mahidol team was warmly welcomed by MWIT administrators and faculty members, including Acting Director Jatuporn Sawatraksa, Dr. Kiatipoom Rodpun, Dr. Duangkae Srikun, and Dr. Saroj Boonseng. Both institutions also discussed the importance of the initiative and future directions for scaling its impact.
This session of the School Living Lab is part of the Carbon Neutrality Campus (CNC) project, which aims to disseminate knowledge on greenhouse gas reduction and carbon neutrality. The activity also serves as a model that will be extended to other educational institutions within the CNC network and to the wider community, contributing to the nation’s progress toward sustainable development.
