November 22, 2021, 09.00 hrs., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sura Pattanakiat, Dean of Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, presided over at the opening ceremony of the international training course on “Human Responses to Climate Change: Mitigation and Adaptation”, virtually organized via Zoom from November 22- December 2, 2021, in which Dr. Hataichanok Siriwadhanakul, Director of Human Resources Development Cooperation Division, Thailand International Cooperation Agency, also delivered a welcome speech to the participants.
The training is organized to encourage the understanding in the linkage and trade-off among sustainable development goals and climate change actions, and demonstrate Thailand’s successful development and implementation of activities relevant to climate change mitigation and adaptation, in which they can be effectively adopted in the home countries of 36 trainees representing environmental public sector organizations and government departments around the world. The training is organized with support from Thailand International Cooperation Agency or TICA, and under the supervision of Lecturer Dr. Allan Sriratana Tabucanon, Assistant to the Dean for Corporate Communication and International Relations, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University as the Training Program Director.

November 8, 2021, 13.00 hrs., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sura Pattanakiat, Dean of Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, presided over at the opening ceremony of the international training course on “Exploring the Role of GIS Technology with Environmental Health and Human Health: Impacts, Vulnerability and Adaptations of Climate Change”, virtually organized via Zoom from November 8-19, 2021, in which Dr. Hataichanok Siriwadhanakul, Director of Human Resources Development Cooperation Division, Thailand International Cooperation Agency, also delivered a welcome speech to the participants.
The training is organized to encourage the integration of the knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with environment management and public health practices. The training focuses on the knowledge for community participatory management in environmental problems and healthcare, especially the utilization of GIS in the study of climate change impacts on health, as well as the use of Geo-Health technology for disease prevention and control to address large-scale public health issues. There are 36 participants representing environmental public sector organizations and government departments around the world attend the training, which is organized with support from Thailand International Cooperation Agency or TICA, and under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kanchana Nakhapakorn, Director of Master of Science Program in Technology of Environmental Management (Regular Program), Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University as the Training Program Director.

October 3, 2021, 09.00 hrs., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sura Pattanakiat, Dean of Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, presided over at the opening ceremony of the international training course on “Integrated Natural Resources Management for Sustainable Tourism and Marketing Strategies”, virtually organized via Zoom from October 3-16, 2021, in which Dr. Hataichanok Siriwadhanakul, Director of Human Resources Development Cooperation Division, Thailand International Cooperation Agency, also delivered a welcome speech to the participants.

The training is organized to enhance the knowledge of the 31 participants representing environmental public sector organizations and government departments around the world concerning the integration of natural resources management for sustainable tourism with marketing strategies and to encourage the use of the knowledge for efficient management of business and natural resources that could reduce environmental impacts with support of technologies and innovations for sustainable tourism. The training also provides a platform where the participants can exchange their knowledge and experience in the subject in their respective countries.

The training was held with support from Thailand International Cooperation Agency or TICA, and under the supervision of Dr. Ratchaphong Klinsrisuk, Lecturer of Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, as the Training Program Director.

18 June, 2020, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sura Pattanakiat, Dean, along with Assistant Deans, welcomed Dr. T. P. Singh, Deputy Regional Director Programm from IUCN Asia Regional Office, on the occasion of his visit to donate books on environment in Asia to the faculty for academic uses, Meeting Room 1203, Nart Tuntawiroon Building, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University.

November 29, 2019, at 13:30 hrs. Lect. Dr. Poonperm Vardhanabindu, Assitant to the Dean for Information, Corporate Communication and Library, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, representing the dean, received Prof. Makoto USAMI from Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies, Kyoto University, Japan, on the occasion of his visit to discuss the possibility of establishing a partnership in bilateral student’s internship activities and joint research projects. For this opportunity, Prof. Makoto USAMI also met with as well as monitored the internship progress of Ms. Meas Chansatya, a graduate student from Kyoto University who participated in the internship program jointly organized by Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies on behalf of Mahidol University and Master’s Program in Environmental Management, Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies in support of Kyoto University, Japan, during September 12 - December 23, 2019, which is chiefly coordinated by Lect. Dr. Pet Techarat. The meeting was held at Meeting Room 4, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University.

6 Nov 19, at 9:30 hrs., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sura Pattanakiat, Dean of Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, delivered a welcome remark, and Mrs. Arunee Hiam,  Director of Human Resources Development Bureau, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), gave an opening speech at the opening ceremony of the international training on “Waste Management and Wastewater Treatment for Sustainability”, which is scheduled to take place at the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, from 6 - 27 November, 2019, and participated by 19 representatives from the government and private sector organizations in 18 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America. The main objective of the training is to enhance the participants with knowledge and experience in solid waste management, wastewater treatment and transformation of waste into energy. The training is under the supervision of Assist. Prof. Dr. Achara Ussawarujikulchai as Training Course Director. The opening ceremony was held at Professor (Special) Lek Moncharoen Conference Room, Badhanatala Environment Building, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University.

On 21 October 2019, Associate Professor Dr. Nuanchan Singkran from Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, at the invitation of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, gave a one-day lecture at the K-water Academy, Republic of Korea.

The lecture entitled “Effective Management & Development of Water Resources in Southeast Asia” was conducted under the international cooperation between the governments of the Kingdom of Thailand and Republic of Korea (TICA-KOICA). 14 representatives from 8 countries attended this lecture including those from Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Timor-Leste.

On 26 Sep 19, at 10:00 hrs., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kampanad Bhaktikul, Dean of Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University and Prof. Dr. Yong Geng, Dean of School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, People’s Republic of China, signed the Memorandum of Agreement on Double Degree Master’s Program between Mahidol University by Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies and Shanghai Jiao Tong University by School of Environmental Science and Engineering, and participated in a discussion about the details of the ensuing operations of the double degree program and other future collaborative projects between the two faculties in the future. The ceremony was organized at School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, People’s Republic of China, with the cooperation of Lect. Dr. Noppol Arunrat, Assistant Dean for International Relations, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, and Prof. Dr. Yixin Zhao, Dean Assistant, School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, People's Republic of China.

From 22-24 Aug 19, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kampanad Bhaktikul, Dean of Faculty of Environment and Resources, with the authorization and representative appointment from Mahidol University President, participated in the AUN-EEC Round Table Discussion, organized at Ateneo De Manila University, Queson City, the Republic of the Philippines, to develop a mutual understanding among the members in the ASEAN University Network (AUN) and discuss their roles in the promotion of Ecological Education and Culture (EEC) of Sustainability among the stakeholders in Southeat Asia region.
