May 28, 2021, 15.30 – 18.00 hrs., Mahidol University by Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies and Indian Institute of Technology Bombay held an online meeting on the topic entitled "Climate Modeling for Designing Adaptation" for the academic staff to present their research work as well as encourage an exchange of knowledge and expertise for the development of academic collaboration in environmental science between the 2 institutions. The meeting started with the opening remarks, kindly delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sura Pattanakiat, Dean of Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University and Prof. Amit Agrawal, Dean International Relations, Indian Institute of Technology Bomba, and was followed by the presentations of research work given by the faculty’s academic staff, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nathsuda Pumijumnong and Lect. Dr. Allan Sriratana Tabucanon and the academic staff from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India, Prof. Subimal Ghosh, Prof. Subhankar Karmakar and Prof. Pennan Chinnasamy. There was also a discussion to exchange knowledge and expertise concerning environmental management for the climate change mitigation and adaption in the context of Thailand and India. The meeting was held on Cisco Webex, and chiefly coordinated by International Relations Division, Mahidol University.

November 16, 2020, at 14.00 – 15.00 hrs., Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, M.D., President of Mahidol University and Mr.Thanya Netithammakun, Director General of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation signed the Memorandum of Understanding for Academic Collaboration between Mahidol University by the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies and the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation for promoting and strengthening knowledge in the conserved forest areas. The ceremony was held at the meeting room 530, 5th floor, Office of the President, Mahidol University, Salaya campus, Nakhonpathom.

Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, M.D., President of Mahidol University and Mr.Thanya Netithammakun, Director General of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation signed the Memorandum of Understanding for Academic Collaboration between the two organizations, with Mr.Somwang Ruangnivatsai, Deputy Director General of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, Mrs.Rungnapar Pattanavibool, Director of Forest and Plant Conservation Research Office, Prof. Wachira Kochakarn, M.D. FACS., Vice President for Research and Scientific Affairs, Mahidol University, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sura Pattanakiat, Dean, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University as witnesses, in which the objectives are to strengthen and support an operation focusing on investigation, study, research, experiment and exchange of knowledge obtained from the conserved forest areas (national parks, forest parks, botanical gardens, arboretums, wildlife sanctuary or non-hunting area) which will develop the capacity and competency of personnel from both organizations in efficiently and sustainably managing conserved forests as well as utilizing and sharing the benefit from natural resources considering the balance, sustainability and biodiversity.

This is to be in line with the National Park Act, B.E. 2562 (2019) and the Wildlife Preservation and Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019) which stipulate that keeping, obtaining or collection of plants, wildlife or biodiversity from national parks, forest parks, botanical gardens, arboretums, wildlife sanctuary or non-hunting area specifically for investigation, study, research or academic experiment are to be permitted by the authority, and the benefit from the study results or biodiversity research shall be shared among the organizations. This Memorandum of Understanding is valid for five years from the date of joint signing.

 

28 September, 2020, 13.30 – 15.30 hrs., Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, held a “Final Orientation Ceremony for the Academic Year 2019”, in which Associate Professor Dr. Sura Pattanakiat, Faculty Dean, and Mr. Sakol Tinakul, President of the Alumni Association, kindly gave congratulatory and commencement speeches, and presented award certificates to the graduates with first and second class honors, and university lapel pins to all the faculty graduates of the academic year 2019 at Theater Room 4224, 2nd Floor, Badhanatala Environment Building Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University.

22 June 2020, at 9 a.m., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sura Pattanakiat, together with the executives, graduate program chairperson and supporting staff of the faculty attended the opening ceremony of MU AUN-QA Assessment Version 1.0 for the program level. The evaluation committee were from Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University consisting of Lect. Dr. Chate Jaikanlaya as Chair, Assoc. prof. Dr. Panan Pichayapinyo and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sukhontha Kongsin as committees. The ceremony was held at Nart Tuntawiroon Meeting Room, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University.

27 November 2019, at 14:30 hrs., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Acting Vice President for Environment and Sustainable Development, as the ceremony chairperson, presented certificates to the 19 participants representing the environmental sectors of government bodies and private sector organizations in 18 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and South America, and delivered a closing speech for the international training on “Waste Management and Wastewater Treatment for Sustainability”. In the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suvaluck Satumanatpan Deputy Dean for Research, Policy and Planning, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, also gave a verbal report of the training course that was organized at the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, from 6-27 November, 2019, with the support of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), with Assist. Prof. Dr. Achara Ussawarujikulchai as the training course director. The closing ceremony was held at Professor (Special) Lek Moncharoen Conference Room, Badhanatala Environment Building, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University.

From November 10-16, 2019, Lect. Dr. Allan Sriratana Tabucanon and Lect. Dr. Chulaporn Kamnerdpetch, together with 10 students from the Master of Science Program in Technology of Environmental Management (ET) and the Master of Science Programme in Environmental Management and Technology (International Programme) (MT), Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, participated in an academic conference titled "The Asian Environmental Resilience Research Initiative 2019 (AERRI 2019)" that was organized at Nagasaki University, Japan, to provide a platform to young students and researchers in Asia to give poster presentations on the their research proposal or findings in the field of environmental sciences pertaining to the Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs, with support of Nagasaki University and the Sakura Science Plan of Japan Science and Technology Agency. On this occasion, Lect. Dr. Allan Sriratana Tabucanon and Lect. Dr. Chulaporn Kamnerdpetch also presented an overview of research at the faculty and the university and a study on climate change as special speakers.

 

5 Sep 19, 09:30 hrs., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kampanad Bhaktikul, Dean, delivered an opening remark at a public hearing held to “receive suggestions from the faculty’s PhD graduates users” as well as expectations from institutes and agencies toward the future PhD graduates, which will enable the faculty’s PhD program to produce graduates who have the qualities that are compatible with the changes and challenges of modern technology as well as the current environment and natural resources situations. The meeting was organized by the Doctor of Philosophy Program in Environment and Resource Studies (International Program), Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, at The Sukosol Hotel, Phaya Thai, Bangkok.

31 Jul 19, 13:00 hrs., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rattanawat Chaiyarat, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Student Affairs, together with Program Director, Faculty Members, Section Heads, and Staff, participated in the presentation of the results and the closing session of the AUN-QA Assessment of the Master of Science Programme in Environmental Management and Technology (International Programme), at Nart Tuntawiroon Meeting Room (1103).

30 Jul 19, 09:00 hrs., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kampanad Bhaktikul, Dean, together with Program Director, Faculty Members, Section Heads, and Staff, received a group of AUN-QA Assessors and participated in the presentation of the objectives for the assessment based on the AUN-QA criteria of the Master of Science Programme in Environmental Management and Technology (International Programme) (MT/MTS), at Nart Tuntawiroon Meeting Room (1103).

10 May 19, at 13.00 hrs., Faculty of Engineering, in collaboration with Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, organized the Assistant Professor Dr. Thanakorn Uan-On Commemorative Speech Day, Special Talk and Special Panel Discussion 2019, in which Asst. Prof. Dr. Kavee Kriravee, the event chairman, gave a report, Asst. Prof. Dr. Jackrit Suthakorn, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kampanad Bhaktikul, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, delivered the commemorative speeches. The event also featured a special talk entitled “The Prelude to the Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University”, given by Dr. Poonpit Amatyakul, M.D, Advisor to Ratchasuda College, Committee and Secretary of Ratchasuda Foundation, followed by a special panel discussion on “A Continuation of Environmental and Engineering Work”, participated by Asst. Prof. Kasem Kulpradit, Asst. Prof. Werachart Muttiranon, Asst. Prof. Dr. Waressara Weerawat, and Dr. Romanee Thongdara, as panelists, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Kavee Kriravee, as a moderator, at Assistant Professor Dr. Thanakorn Uan-On Auditorium, (Room 6450), 4th Floor, Building 3, Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University.

10 May 19, 09.30 - 12.00 hrs., Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kitikorn Charmondusit, Acting Vice President for Environment and Sustainable Development, Asst. Prof. Dr. Auempron Mutchimwong, Acting Vice President for Finance of Mahidol University, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sura Pattanakiat, Deputy Dean for Research Administration, Academic Services and Information Technology, together with the Academic and the Supporting Staff of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, attended a meeting on making the recommendations for a research project on PM2.5, at Nart Tuntawiroon Meeting Room, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University.
