Prospect Burma, Republic of the Union of Myanmar Visited

Deputy Dean for Research Administration, Academic Services and Information Technology, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nathsuda Pumijumnong, Director of Doctor of Philosophy Program in Environment and Resource Studies (International Program), and Lect. Dr. Kamalaporn Kanongdate, Director of Master of Science Programme in Environmental Management and Technology (International Programme) (MT), received Mr. Lalfak Mawia, Country Manager and Ms. Shwe Yee Tun Aung, Program Officer, Prospect Burma, Republic of the Union of Myanmar, on the ocassion of their visit to the faculty and participation in the discussion about the progress on the development of agreement for recruiting Burmese students with outstanding educational background in environmental science for their further study in the postgraduate programs under the scholarships provided by Prospect Burma and the faculty. The meeting was held at Meeting Room 1203, Nart Tuntawiroon Building, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University.

Thai coast: Coastal vulnerability, resilience and adaptation in Thailand

29 Jan 19, The Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), together with the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), UK, and Thailand Research Fund (TRF), officially announced on its website a joint research project on “Thai coast: Coastal vulnerability, resilience and adaptation in Thailand”, launched by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kanchana Nakhapakorn, Associate Professor at Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, as Head of Research Team from Thailand, and Prof. Dr. Cherith Moses from Department of Geography, Edge Hill University, as Head of Research Team from the United Kingdom. 2018 Outstanding Journal Editor Award

Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies wishes to congratulate Assoc. Prof. Dr. Benjaporn Prapakdee and Environment and Natural Resources Journal Working Team on the reception of 2018 Outstanding Journal Editor Award and the acceptance of the journal for inclusion in Scopus in the conference on “The 12th Network of Thai Academic Journal Quality Development”, on 9 March, 2018, at Ambassador Hotel Bangkok.

New Plant Discovered by Mahidol University

Asst. Prof. Dr. Thammarat Putthai , Director of Bachelor of Science Program in Environmental Science (International Program), Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahiol University, in collaboration with Dr. Ching-I Peng and Mr. Che-Wei Lin from Academia Sinica, Taiwan, discovered a new plant called Begonia Fulgurata and developed a plan for its conservation due to its potential extinction caused by reduction of forest.

JSPS-NRCT RONPAKU Medal Award 2018

On 8 Feb 18 Lect. Dr. Noppol Arunrat was granted the “JSPS-NRCT RONPAKU Medal Award” and made a thesis research presentation in the seminar on the topic "EEC and Sustainable Development", organized by Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Alumni Association of Thailand (JAAT), Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, Bangkok office (JSPS) and National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) at Arnoma Hotel
